Intercession Trip to North Korea February 2008

It was the beginning of October, on the day that North Korea announced the tests with their nuclear missiles, when God spoke to us again that we should first go to the East, to North Korea to be exact.

We were not very encouraged when we collected all the information about North Korea. According this information Christians in North Korea have a really tough and heavy life. But, when God gives you an assignment, you go!

The next question we had to answer was, how do you enter a country that is really closed? There was no travel agency or someone who could help us arrange a visa for North Korea. Also one of the few North Korean embassies, located in Berlin, can’t give information. The only place where they provide visas is in Beijing. Getting a visa for China is pretty easy, though. The goal of our trip is to go and pray on the Square of Heavenly Peace.

After searching a long time on the internet we find an application form for a visa to North Korea. Despite the fact that the form is outdated, we still fill it in. We couldn’t send it per fax, so we sent the form with a copy of our passport per e-mail. We ask God why it’s so hard to get it all arranged? God answers with Daniel 3 and 6.

In Pyong Yang, the capital city of North Korea, there is a big golden statue. And everyone needs to bow down for it. Also it’s forbidden to pray in public there. We proclaim out loud that we will not bow down before the statue and that we will pray in public, even though there are risks involved (lion’s den and fiery furnace).

A few days later we get notice that we cannot get individual visas for North Korea, but we can attend with a ‘Friendship travel’ in February 2007. That’s not our intention.

So we ask God what we should do now. God answers with Daniel 10:12. The trip to North Korea causes fierce battle in the heavenly realms. First more territories need to be conquered, so God can come there. Like it is written in Isaiah 59:14-21: “…For he will come like a pent-up flood..” and Malachi 4:2 “..the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings…”

The trip to the East goes first to Beijing to pray and proclaim on the Square of Heavenly Peace and subsequently to South Korea. From there we go to the border with North Korea to take possession of the area and to ask substitutional forgiveness for everything that went wrong and to encourage the people with the following scriptures. Genesis 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” And the scripture: Philippians 4:13 “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” How this trip went, you can read in the travel report to Beijing and South Korea.

After returning from South Korea, we got the instructions to approach the leader of North Korea ten times, like Moses went to the Pharao (Exodus 5,7,8,9,10,11 and 12). This we did every month per e-mail in the period from January through October 2007. Once a month we sent a digital request to intercede for the leader Kim Yong Il and the people. We attached the travel report China – Korea, a Korean Bible, a request to release God’s people with Easter, and prophecies like you see below.

Also we sent the bi-lingual Bible that we bought in South Korea as a gift to Pyong Yang.
Every month we see things happening in North Korea: round tabel conventions, signing of treaties and pacts, nuclear inspections, humanitarian help, opening railroad, meeting between North and South Korea, but also plagues, like famine, floodings and other things like this.

And then, right before sending the tenth e-mail, we found the invitation on the website of North Korea that we can attend the: Anniversary of the Great Leader Kim Jong Il.
In total twenty people are allowed from all over the world can request a place for this invitation. We are totally surprised, but at the same time we ask: is this God’s will? We prayed for it and God answers with Luke 10:3 “Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.”
God will go with us as the shepherd. And when God sends you, you go!

The Preparation:
It’s halfway through December 2007 as we continue our preparations for our trip to North Korea. We ask God for His guidance.
This will be a mission with a considerable amount of spiritual war.
First of all we need to increase our prayer group from twelve to seventy-two. Luke 10:1 “After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.”
The intercessors will be proclaiming in prayer for North Korea. We ourselves go literally to different cities and towns in North Korea, we will literally CROSS the country!
Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” When we go in His name, God will be there also! And we cannot judge or offend people there. For the judgement is to God.
2 Corinthians 6:3 “We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.” en Romans 2:2 “Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.”

Our ministry is to proclaim God’s love for the Korean people by using scriptures. The core scripture is 1 Corinthians 13, which we memorized!

We are going as ambassadors for God’s Kingdom. We cannot be of any offense to people.

In further preparation we talk with the government representatives what is and what is not allowed:
– It is not allowed to make public ‘propaganda’ for Christianity by using symbols, gestures and possessing a Bible in public.
– It is allowed to proclaim Bible scriptures and pray in Dutch, possess a Bible, distribute ‘friendship cards’ (see photo gallery) with the text ‘Faith, hope and love’. Additionally, we will give the leader of North Korea a painting of ‘Daniel in the Lion’s den’.

In fact we received the space to be ourselves and are allowed to freely speak and share thoughts and opinions with a limited group of people. This also about the position of Christians in North Korea. Additionally, we could bring our Bible everywhere without any problem, even proclaiming God’s word and share God’s love for the people by using the friendship cards.

Tuesday February 5th, Wednesday February 6th
Scripture of the day: Jeremiah 15: 19-21
Therefore this is what the LORD says: “If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you,” declares the LORD. “I will save you from the hands of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the cruel.

Today we leave for the airport to have a flight during the night to China. At the airport we take extensive time to pray for the mission. We are pointed to Isaiah 40:1-8, a comforting word for North Korea. We are blessed with good seats in the airplane. The time difference is seven hours; we arrive in the afternoon. So when we arrive at the hotel ‘Red Wall’ in Beijing we are pretty tired. In the middle of the night we woke up because of gigantic fire works, the Chinese New Year just started. To our great surprise the North Korean New Year started as well.

Thursday, February 7th
Scripture of the day: Genesis 16:13
She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.” (Genesis 18:14) The LORD Will Provide. (Genesis 22:14)
Today we go to the Square of Heavenly Peace. We proclaim 1 Corinthians 13 and pray, God’s love. After about one and a half hours we go back to the hotel. We have a nice long walk. In the evening when we were having a drink, we heard someone talking about North Korea in Spanish. He wears a uniform. Also this night there was a lot of fireworks till late at night.

Friday, February 8th
Scripture of the day: Genesis 15:1
After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.

We woke up early in the morning to meet the other people in the hotel and the person who is leading the trip to North Korea. We don’t see other people, but around 8:00 AM the Spanish man, who we saw the night before, comes and it turns out that he is guiding the trip. There are two other travelers with us, two people from Taiwan, a father and son. So there are not 20 people but only four who applied for the trip to North Korea. It was clear with them that we are “deep Christian people”. Tonight we will get further instructions for the trip. The rest of the day is very relaxed, we spend it with a lot of prayer and reading the Bible.

Saturday, February 9th
Scripture of the day: Luke 10:2-3
He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.

Today we got out of bed early, we are expected to be at the North Korean embassy at 8:30 AM to arrange the visa to North Korea. It was dealt with in only 30 minutes by the Spanish authority who traveled with us to Pyong Yang. After this we drive to the airport for our flight to Pyong Yang. It turns out we fly with an old airplane. But the trip goes smoothly and we arrive around 2:00 AM at the airpot in Pyong Yang, the capital city of North Korea. It’s pretty quiet outside. We are the only plane that arrives. At customs we need to turn in our mobile phones. One of the other travelers was allowed to keep his laptop with him.

At the airport a delegation of the government picks us up. Two of them and a driver are guiding us the rest of the trip. They are even staying in the room across ours. One of the two government officials has even personal contact with the leader of North Korea. He joins us several times. Then we drive by bus into the capital city, but there is not much traffic. In the weekend people are not allowed to use the car, they explain to us. In the city we see all kinds of huge pictures and photos of Kim Il Sung and Kim Yong Il. And after a kind of touristic tour we go to the square where there is the huge golden statue of Kim Il Sung.

Later that afternoon we will give our painting. It was quite hard to get the painting as special luggage with us the whole way. But eventually, it all worked out. We wrap it with gift paper. Around 5:00 PM there turns out to be a government delegation to welcome us and to receive the gifts. We use interpreters for the conversations.

Corrie is the first person to give a present. She also gives an explanation of the painting in English. The Spanish man helps her with this. The government official is clearly touched by this and points out that he sees the light of the Eternal in it. And later the situation of the Korean people; the light to come out of the darkness. The Taiwanese people offer a book, that is written by the mother of the son. It’s about the power of positive thinking. After this the travel schedule is made. Especially for us they scheduled a visit to a church on Monday. And also we can go to the Kim Il Sung Square to proclaim the scriptures.

That same night they offer us a dinner. Extensively we speak about the political system in North Korea. They ask us for our opinion. Corrie shares that she is not interested in politics. The conversations continues about flowers in Holland and that the womaen in North Korea are seen as a bright cheerful flower. So now and then Corrie has the chance to share about God’s love for all the people and about our worldwide intercession mission.

Sunday, February 10th
Scripture of the day: Romans 13:1
Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

Today we will be busy. The agenda is fully booked.
First we visit the house where Kim Il Sung was born. He comes from an impoverished family. After this we go to the Tower of Juche Idea. From high levels (135 meters) we proclaim the scriptures over the city and bless the people.
From here we go to a postal stamps exhibition hall, also functioning as a post office. We buy some postcards to send to some people in the Netherlands. But first our guides have to read what is written on them before we can send them. It takes about two weeks before they arrive in the Netherlands.
Further we go to the Arch the Triumph. This represents the victory on the Japanese people. The biggest victory of the world, they tell us. We end the day with a visit to the bowling alley. We prefer getting a cup of coffee and soon the others join us. Soon we are in a lively conversation about the presidential candidates in the USA. It’s the first day we spend as much time as possible proclaiming scriptures while walking and driving around.

Monday, Februari 11th
Scripture of the day: 1 Peter 2:17
Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king (the government). 1 Peter 3:10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.

There is some tension. Today a visit to a church is planned. But first we visit the institute for architectural studies (Architecture Institute). There is also an exhibition about the old Pyong Yang, with its many churches, the totally ruined city in the Korean war and its rebuilding. They show us the architect education. We bless the building and proclaim there. Afterwards we go to the ‘Study House’, the students can study here, they are allowed to study for half a year and do some free studying without really having to choose a specific study. There are teachers who will help you when you have questions. There is also a huge library with all books. When we ask if there is a Bible, they say that there are study books about the Bible, but not the Bible itself.

Now it’s time to go to a church. The building is behind a wall on a secured and closed area. It’s a Catholic church. The building is pretty new, but it has gloomy decoration. It’s the first building where there are no pictures or paintings from the leaders, but there is a painting of Jesus. There is no service, so we decide to pray ourselves.
Corrie is touched by the Holy Spirit and is emotional (in exaltation) for quite a while. The others are in a conversation with the present director of the church for Christendom. There are about 15,000 Catholics in Pyong Yang, there are no priests and the services on Sunday are done by an uniniated person or via television.
We organize our own service here. The Bible is open at the book of Genesis, we pray and proclaim and kneel before the cross. The other people present are clearly impressed and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. After about half an hour the others want to go on. Pictures are taken with Jesus on the background.

That afternoon we visit the institute for E-learning. Here people can take all kinds of studies through the internet. The teacher is not there. You can ask him all kinds of questions and they will be answered by e-mail. We bless the people that are present there and proclaim scriptures throughout the building.
After this we visit a war museum. The Korean war gets extensive attention here with the heroic deeds of the North Korean soldiers and the terrors of the Americans. But we do not come to fight and with armor, ‘Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.’ Psalm 20:7.
And we continue to proclaim God’s Spirit and love the whole time we are there. We end this day with a visit to the spy ship “Pueblo” that is conquered from the Americans. They give us a clarification with a lot of war rhetorics. To bless and proclaim God’s love is our task.

Tuesday, February 12th
Scripture of the day: Psalm 22:1-5
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, and am not silent. Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel. In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.

Early in the morning we go by bus to the northern part of the country. Hours we bless the people along the road and proclaim God’s love. Outside Pyong Yang there are wide highways but not a lot of traffic. Most people use their bikes or walk. Further more we see oxen carts. First we visit the building where the gifts are presented that the North Korean government receives.
Today we give away for the first time the friendship cards, which they receive with joy and love. We write this in the guestbook. After this we go to a Buddha temple and service, but we stay outside. We cover ourselves with the blood of Jesus. Then we visit another small village and return back to Pyong Yang.

Wednesday, February 13th
Scripture of the day: Proverbs 22:17-21
Pay attention and listen to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips. So that your trust may be in the LORD, I teach you today, even you. Have I not written thirty sayings for you, sayings of counsel and knowledge, teaching you true and reliable words, so that you can give sound answers to him who sent you?

Today we first visit an institute where girls attend embroidery school. They create real works of art. We proclaim and bless them. Afterwards we go to an art museum. It’s really dark and cold there. Then we get the opportunity to go to the Kim Il Sung square for a prayerwalk. It takes about a half an hour. Our guides are clearly relieved that we do it without offending people. We proclaim the scriptures and bless the square. With that we stand in the freezing cold wind. After this prayerwalk we do a prayerwalk through the city center.

In the afternoon we go to the man-made waterdam in the river-mouth. This weir is there to protect the land against flooding. Here we also speak a blessing and proclaim. We also continue to share the little cards.

At night we have another dinner. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Corrie speaks to the single people at the table. She tells them to find a wife who is complementary to you. The marriage equation should be one and one equals three. We also talk with some other people from the government. They want to know how to establish business connections in the Netherlands. It is clear we can mean something for them now. Later we get e-mail addresses so we can forward them interesting business opportunities. But we do not come with intentions to do business, that’s clear for them now, too. It remains difficult for them to understand that we come out of our love for the Korean people.

Thursday, February 14th.
Scripture of the day: Nehemiah 1:3-4
They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.” When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

Today they request us to come in formal clothing. We visit the Mausoleum where Kim Il Sung is buried, the Memorial Palace. Daily, there are huge lines with Koreans to honor him. But we get priority and don’t need to stay in line. There are vast rooms, in one of them is the embalmed body. In that huge room is a ceremony. We continue to other areas with all the medals and honours for Kim Il Sung and other cases. We proclaim continually 1 Corinthians 13 and bless the people there.

Afterwards we visit a memorial place where many heroes of the Korean resistance against the Japanese are buried. Their goldenplated busts are on the graves. There are also several women with us. That afternoon we visit a hospital. We go to the maternity ward. Literally, the birth of the new life. Corrie is very much touched by it. She speaks with patients, through a monitor, that lay in a separated area. We bless these new lives and also their parents.
The conservatory is the follow thing we visit. That day we finish with a visit to an Ostrich farm. The ostriches are for the eggs and for the meat. Driving around on the farm we see how an ostrich lays an egg. Again, new life. Very quickly they remove the egge before they destroy it. It’s a pretty big egg.

Friday, February 15th
Scripture of the day: 1 Samuel 2:1-2
Then Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. “There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.

We have a full schedule today, first exhibitions of the industrial developments, a war memorial building, the subway (the hallways are real works of art), a visit to the number one school, where the best students of the nation go to school, the gate of reconciliation between North- and South Korea and we finish with a flower exhibition honoring the birthday of Kim Yong Il. They record it for TV. Later they broadcasted this on the North Korean TV.
Again it is a day of blessing, proclaiming and giving away the cards.
At dinner we speak about our faith with the Taiwanese travel companions. They know the meaning of the fish on the cards. We also give them a card of our worldwide intercession mission. Both of them feel at home in Buddhism.

Saturday, February 16th
Scripture of the Day: Amos 5:14-15
Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts.

Today there are a lot of festivities to celebrate the birthday of Kim Yong Il. It’s his 66th birthday. In the hotel they have a music performance for their relatives and guests. This music comes from deep inside of them and is really touching. Also our Spanish guide sings some Spanish hymns. Afterwards we go to a children’s musical. As international guests we get the seats of honor.

At our request we visit the Kim Il Sung square that afternoon. A lot of people are dancing and so we dance at the square. The square that we took possession of for God in December 2006 and where we did the prayer walk last Wednesday. During the folk dancing we proclaim different scriptures and songs, like ‘The River is here’ (the square is situated at the riverside), ‘Celebrate the Lord of Love’, ‘Put on the garments of Praise’. There is much joy. I get a picture of David as he is dancing before God, praising and honoring Him.
That evening we go to a club for diplomats. We have a great night with a lot of singing and we even sing ourselves.

Sunday February 17th
Scripture of the day: Luke 3:4-6
As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all mankind will see God’s salvation.’ “

Today we visit the border with South and North Korea. It’s about three hours driving. The whole trip we proclaim scriptures and bless the mostly walking and cycling people on the highway. Along the way there are many checkpoints and surveillances, even more when we come closer to the border. The last part is a demilitarised area. Here the soldiers only have light weapons. There is a lot of talking about war and we try to move the conversation towards peace. God winks, on one of the buildings there is a painting of a blue dove: the symbol of peace, but also of the Holy Spirit. We change the subject to this. While North and South Korean soldiers stand close to each other, we go inside a building where North and South Korea have their peace talks. The Americans still refuse to sign the peacetreaty. So there is only a treaty for a truce. Inside the building we literally cross the border from North to South Korea. We bless the building with God’s peace and proclaim God’s reconciliation between the Korean people themselves. Recently, between the two nations they opened a railroad. South Korean tourists can use this for a short visit to North Korea.

Afterwards they offer us a typical Korean meal. This is sitting cross-legged at a low table and eatings with chopsticks. With that we get the local rice brandy. We also have dogsoup. A kind of pig that looks a lot like a dog. On our way back we leave the highway, first on a pebbled path and later on a sandy road in the mountains to visit a Buddhist temple. The nature is very beautiful. We see the local people, with wood on their backs and with old little cars behind their old bycicles, gathering wood.

At night we offer everyone a dinner. A German businessman is also a guest. To his big surprise Corrie is allowed to open the meal with prayer. She invites the Holy Spirit to come. The people are clearly touched. From the German person we hear how hard it is to do business in North Korea.

Monday February 18th.
Scripture of the day: Galations 5:22, 23, 25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

It’s the last day of our visit, we visit some art galleries. We proclaim, bless and give away the little cards.
That night there is a good-bye dinner and the high government official is there also. God charges us to speak about the position of the Christian people in North Korea. It takes a long time before we get the sign from the Holy Spirit. But the timing is perfect. We get an extensive explanation of how they approach Christians. During the Japanese occupation there was a flourishing Christian community, especially in Pyong Yang. The Americans completely bombed Pyong Yang, during the Korean war. With that also many churches. The Christians were too poor to rebuild the churches. So there are only some home churches and the government has also built some churches for them. Officially there is freedom of religion for christian people. But public expressions of faith are not allowed. Only within the church buildings. So young people don’t know or barely know Christendom. It is mostly the elderly people who are still Christian. The Taiwanese father asks us how Christianity is in The Netherlands. We testify how currently Christianity is reviving again. Not believing anymore from tradition, but truly from the heart. In the same way we come to North Korea to show the love of God and the compassion of Jesus for the people. This clearly impressed and touched the people who are at the table. Especially the high governmental offical, he tells us to start thinking differently about Christianity. We give him a friendship card too and the card with our weblog ‘www.samenindenaamvanjezus.nl’.

Tuesday February 19th
Scripture of the day: Isaiah 54:7, 10
“For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Early in the morning they bring us to the airport. The high governmental official is present again. During breakfast at the airport we talk about our faith again. With saying goodbye the high governmental official he says in English: ‘Keep on believing in God and in your nation, but not in America.’ These words are straight from his heart.
In Beijing we say goodbye to our fellow travelers from Taiwan and from our Spanish travel guide. That night we stay in Beijing at a hotel close to the airport.

Wednesday, February 20th
Scripture of the day: Daniel 12:13
“As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”

After a tiring trip of about 20 hours we are back home.

Attached: A Word for North Korea; 1 Corinthians 13

The word for North Korea:
I, your God, the Alpha and Omega, creator of heaven and earth, I will shake the heavens and the earth.

I will overturn royal thrones and shatter the power of the foreign kingdoms. I will overthrow chariots and their drivers; horses and their riders will fall (Haggai 2:21-23). Not by might nor by power but by my Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Who are you, big mountain? Before the presence of my people you will become flat. With praise, Honor, honor be to you. From on this day I will bless my people (Haggai 2:20-23). ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says to the Shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them. ” ‘For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep (Ezekiel 34:1-24).

I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture. I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats. Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet? See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away, I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another. ‘I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild beasts so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety. I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings (Malachi 2:4). At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth (Zephaniah 3:20).

‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace (Haggai 2:10). When I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the LORD.

1 Corinthians 13:

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
